Staunton VFW Post 1241 annual Poppy Days are this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13. As the VFW's official Memorial Flower, the poppy represents the blood shed by American service members and the VFW will not forget those sacrifices. During their Employee Appreciation Week celebration in October, the employees at Madison were challenged to donate non-perishable items for the local food pantries as part of a team bonding exercise. The Macoupin County Public Health Department will have its Mobile Dental Clinic at Staunton Schools on Dec. 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16.
