Olive athlete and Superintendent of the Pawnee school system was honored as their annual Friend of the County.     High school seniors from Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin now have a chance to receive one of ten college scholarships worth $1,000. Registration is open now through April 30, 2024. Parents are also now able to register their students.     Governor JB Pritzker announced that Illinois secured 14.9 million in competitive federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program.     The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (“IDFPR”) announced on Jan. 11 that adult use cannabis sales set a new annual record in 2023, exceeding $1.6 billion. Records were also set in sales to in-state residents and the number of items sold, with that total increasing more than 15 percent compared to 2022.     On Jan. 12, Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) spoke on the House Floor to recognize Bunker Hill Basketball Coach, Jim Hlafka, who passed away last month at 90 years old.
