Kelley

Pamela M. “Pam” Kelley, 72, of O’Fallon, Mo. peacefully passed away at St. Louis University Hospital on Jan. 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born Jan. 31, 1951, in Staunton the daughter of the late Harold (Midge) Wriede and Elsie Davis. She married James “Jim” Kelley on Dec. 29, 1973, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton.

Pam grew up in Staunton and graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1969. After marriage, she lived in many cities throughout Illinois and the U.K., and most recently in O’Fallon, Mo.

Pam loved to sew, quilt, embroider and enjoyed all types of crafting. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She collected Hallmark ornaments and was a member of the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club. She loved to travel, especially after living overseas. She was in the PTO at the schools her children attended and enjoyed cooking. Most of all, she loved being a mother and a grandmother, and spoiling her grandchildren. She worked in retail sales and was an administrative assistant at State Farm until she retired. She was the family matriarch as well as a loyal friend.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Patty; mother-in-law, Helen Kelley; father-in-law, Leo J. Kelley; and brother-in-law, John Adden. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, James “Jim” Kelley; three sons, Patrick (Heidi) Kelley, Sean (Emily) Kelley, and Jason (Brenda) Kelley; eight grandchildren, Ahna (Jacob) Warren, Sarenna, Jaxon, Kenzie, Xander, Makayla, Freyja, and Leo; great-grandchild, Asta; sister, Gloria (Jerry) Saracco; and brother, Barry (Karma) Wriede also survives.

A Funeral Mass was at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton on Jan. 15, 2024. Father Tom Hagstrom officiated. Interment will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton is in charge of arrangements.
