Shirley Jean Barnard, 87, of Moro, Ill., died at the Community Hospital of Staunton on Jan. 10, 2024. She was born June 14, 1936 in Alton the daughter to the late Robert Miller and Hazel (Buchanan) Miller. She married Bernie Barnard of Moro on Oct. 6, 1955 and he survives.
She was a cake decorator at County Fair in Bethalto and a floral designer at Firnhaber Florist in Staunton for several years. Shirley enjoyed crafts, flowers, gardening, and her cats.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Ramsey; two sisters, Beverly McCall and Diane Lewis; and one brother, Robert Miller. She is survived by her three children, Michael (Sheli) Barnard of Moro, Bonnie (Eric) Oliphant of Worden, and Garrick Barnard of The Philippines; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
