Janice Marie Kern, 67, of Gillespie, Ill., died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022. She was born June 20, 1955, to William E. and Shirley Jean (Logsdon) Hopper.

She was a bookkeeper. Janice adored Bichon dogs.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Clotfelter, of Gillespie, Cole Kern of Gillespie; grandchildren, Demi, Gabe; siblings, Nancy Hopper of Gillespie, William (Jeana) Hopper Jr. of Arkansas, Stephen (Terrie) Bloomfield of Mt Olive; several step-siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Rose Hopper.

A celebration of life was held at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie on Saturday, Jan. 7.
