Buffington

Glenn F. Buffington, 74, of Staunton, passed away at Anderson Hospital in Maryville on Sunday, March 3, 2024. He was born Jan. 17, 1950 in Litchfield the son to the late Norrigan Buffington and Edith Wray. He married Debra Paris on June 17, 1972 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton and she survives.

Glenn served in the U.S. Army in the “101st Airborne” during the Vietnam War.

He was a Meat Cutter at Bill’s IGA in Staunton for 40 years. Glenn was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Staunton and the Staunton Knights of Columbus No. 2197. He was a past St. Michael’s School basketball coach.

Glenn enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, landscaping, and beating the family at “Wheel of Fortune”.

Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton and will be officiated by Rev. Thomas Hagstrom.

He is survived by his three children, Robyn (Terry) Albrecht, Cory (Tammy) Buffington, and Jessica (Ben) Gillen; four grandchildren, Chloe Albrecht, Brady Gillen, Carson and Luke Buffington; two brothers, Earl (Karen) Buffington and Mark (Valerie) Buffington; sister, Lana Hebenstreit; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Donna Pritchett; Several nieces and nephews also survive.He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Aldo and Gladys Paris; and one brother in infancy, David Buffington.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Staunton. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites at Staunton VFW Post No. 1241 immediately following the Memorial Mass. Williamson Funeral Home of Staunton is in charge of arrangements.

Mermorials are suggested to either St. Michael Catholic Church of Staunton, the American Diabetes Association, or to the Staunton Patriot Club.
