Shirley Ann Motto, 90, of Gillespie, Ill., died at Heritage Health in Gillespie on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022. She was born March 10, 1932, in Gillespie to Thad and Jeanette (Kliest) Durken. She married Jimmie Lee "Rick" Motto on Oct. 25, 1952, in Gillespie. He preceded her in death.

Shirley was a homemaker, operator of Mud Hen Ceramics and One of A Kind Jewelry. Shirley also enjoyed painting, shopping and bingo.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette Pinkston of Mt. Olive, Jody Ann (Matthew) Hunt of Peoria; son, Jimmie Alan (Patty Wirth) Motto of St. Louis, Mo .; three grandchildren, Jody (John) Aiello Carriker, Thad (Karen) Hunt, ReJeana (Christopher) Hager; three step-grandchildren, Elisha Pinkston, Adam (Katie) Pinkston, Jessica (Josh) Koniak; four great-grandchildren; four step-great -grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie Lee Motto; and son-in-law, Brian Pinkston.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie with Rev. Dennis Hill officiating. Burial was at Gillespie Cemetery.
