The Staunton Junior High School Principal, Dr. John Griffith, died unexpectedly on Thursday night, Feb. 3. The school district made the announcement on Friday, Feb. 4. School was not in session at the time due to the snow storm on Wednesday and Thursday.

Griffith began his duties at Staunton Junior High at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.

Before coming to Staunton, he served as an administrator in the Harmony-Emge School District in Belleville. He had previously been an administrator in Collinsville, and prior to that he was a teacher in Baton Rouge, La., and in the Chicago area...
