Bort

Sylvia A. Bort, 86, of Prairietown, Ill., passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1938 to the late Theodore and Cordelia Heine Bunte. Sylvia married Fred G. Bort on June 13, 1959.

Sylvia grew up in Prairietown on a farm with her sisters. She attented St. Peter’s Lutheran School and church in Prairietown. She graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1956. She worked as a secretary for St. Peter’s Lutheran Sunday school for 25 years, a member of Ladies Aid, Choir, and became a stay at home mother soon after having her children.
