Food Drive Madness

The junior high student council has start their annual food drive.Last year's food drive brought in over 7,300 items last year for Staunton Helping Hands, located on Main St. in Staunton.

They love the exciting, healthy competition between their school homerooms and grade levels school wide and hope every one is excited to participate again. The hope is that this year will be even more successful.

Grades Pre-K vs. Kindergarten vs. First; Grades, Second vs. Third. vs. Fourth; Grades, Fifth vs. Sixth vs. Seventh vs. Eighth will compete in the Food Drive Madness event being put on by Staunton's Elementary and Junior High Schools.

Round One: Carbs (Feb. 26 through March 1)

Boxed Mashed Potatoes; Flavored rice; Boxed Stuffing; Hamburger Helper; Tuna Helper; Oyster/Saltine Crackers; Pancake Mix; Mac-n-Cheese; Spaghetti/Assorted Noodles; Canned Pasta (ex: Ravioli); Flavored Pasta; Canned Whole/Sliced Potatoes; Instant Oatmeal Packets; and Ramen Noodles.

Round Two: Canned Vegetables (March 4 through March 8)

Corn, Peas and Green Beans

Round Three: Canned Fruits (March 11 through March 15)

Pineapple; Appleasauce; Mandarin Oranges; and Peaches

Round Four: Soup and Condiments (March 18 through March 22)

Tomato; Chicken Noodle; Vegetable; Cream of Chicken; Cream of Mushroom; Chili; Ketchup; Spaghetti Sauce; Jelly; BBQ Sauce; Mustard; Creamy Peanut Butter; Ranch/Italian Salad Dressing; Sloppy Joe Sauce; as well as Pork and Beans.
