Caveny

Sherri Lynn Caveny, 61, of Gillespie, died on Feb. 4, 2024. She was born Feb. 11, 1962, in Litchfield to Simon Pomatto and Ruth Ann (Hartnett) Pomatto of Gillespie. Sherri was preceded in death by her father, Simon Pomatto and she is survived by her mother, Ruth Ann Pomatto. She married James C. Caveny of Gillespie, on July 15, 1989 in Gillespie and he survives.

Sherri worked in maintenance for the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department. In her personal life, she enjoyed cats, dogs, and bingo.

She is survived by her brothers, Dwayne Pomatto (Lisa) of Gillespie and Ron (Jo Ann) Pomatto of Gillespie; niece, Molly; nephew, Anthony; and mother-in-law, Billie Caveny of Gillespie.

Visitation services were held Feb. 8, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie and Funeral services were Feb. 9, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery located in Gillespie.
