Mark Wayne Mathenia, 64, of Staunton, died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield on Jan. 28, 2024. He was born Mar. 28, 1959 in East St. Louis, Ill., to father, G.L. Mathenia and mother, Imogene Smith and they preceded him in death. He married Claudia Robinson and she survives.

Mark served in the Army National Guard from 1977 to 1985. He also served as a Pastor at First General Baptist Church in Staunton for several years and he was a member of the Patriot Guard. He loved spending time with his grandkids, boating and fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
