Mark David Lueker, 42, of Hamel, Ill., passed away Jan. 20, 2024. Mark was born Feb. 20, 1981, to James Robert Lueker and Patricia (Warner) Lueker.

He attended Mt. Olive schools and graduated with the Class of 1999. Mark earned an Associates Degree in Graphic Arts. He was a talented artist and excelled in portraits. Mark loved music which occupied much of his spare time. He had a big heart and was always ready to help care for stray cats in the neighborhood. He worked as a bank teller locally at the Grand Rapids vault, and at DK’s Market and Slots in Hamel where he found a “work family”. He was also a Cubs fan and will be missed by many.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents; Jim (Karen) Lueker and Patricia Lueker; two brothers, Randy (Kayci) Lueker and their children; Gruvis and Eunice, Timothy (Anna) Lueker and their children; Reagan, Kennedy, Jackson, McKinley and Grant; One step-brother, Jimmy Frizzo and son, Brody; One step-sister, Julie (Chuck) Cox and their children Cole and Emma.

Visitation took place Jan. 27, 2024, at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Memorials are suggested to the family, and Becker and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Anyone wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at http://www.beckerandson.com.
