Michael Ellis, 41, of Gillespie, died at his residence on Jan. 17, 2024. He was born Dec. 13, 1982 in Belleville, to Rodney Ellis and Janet (Knowles) Ellis.

Michael loved football and enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his mother, Janet Ellis of Benld; siblings, Billy Ellis of Benld, Shawn Ellis of Gillespie, Jonny Ellis of Gillespie, Christopher Ellis of Gillespie, and Missy Ellis of Benld; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Ellis; and sister, Amanda Ellis.

A celebration of life will be at a later date. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.
