Vaughn

Charles William Vaughn, 82, of Wood River, formerly of Royal Lakes, died at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton on Jan. 5, 2024. He was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Bunker Hill to the late Charles James Vaughn and Delphia Marie (Mangels) Vaughn. He married Phyllis Darlene (Tucker) Vaughn on Sept. 9, 1975 in Bunker Hill and she preceded him in death on Sept. 4 in 2021.

He was retired after having been a draftsman for Hurst Rosche Engineers.

Charles was a veteran of the US Army after having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Bethalto and Piasa Black Powder Burners. He enj...
