Ruckman

Carol Jean Ruckman, 78, of Gillespie, died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023.

She was born May 16, 1945 to Darrel Stephens and Jane (Wildamuth) Stephens. She married William R. Ruckman on Sept. 6, 1970 in Prophetstown, Ill. and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2003.

Carol was a secretary for International Filter Mfgr and she was a member of the Red Hat Society, SS Simon and Jude Altar Society, as well as a Natural Family Planning Instructor.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Darrel and Jane Stephens; granddaughter, Kala; and a brother, Don. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Darrel E. (Jaime) Ruckman of Gillespie, William (Aurora) Ruckman Jr. of Palatine, Ill., Daniel Ruckman of Florida; daughter, Theresa Ruckman of Dixon, Ill .; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brooklyne (Phillip), Drake, Mindy (Cory), Katie, and Chris; and three great-grandchildren, Bexley, Bronson and Dianna.

Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Funeral services are on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo, Ill. on Friday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.
