Raab-Farley

Carol Louise Raab-Farley, 62, of Thornton, Colo., passed away in the home where she raised her family on Dec. 16, 2023.

She was born on March 4, 1961 in Staunton and she never met a stranger during the years she graced this plane of existence.

Carol obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in 1983, allowing her the opportunity to work on excavation sites abroad in Paestum, Italy, and her hometown of Edwardsville. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 to 1990 in Alaska and Colorado. In 1991, she began her family in Colo., raising her daughter, Shanna, and her son, Alex.

Carol's true-life passion was connecting to the human experience through art and music. She conceived and was dedicated to a new style of art that utilized sheet music and shaped silhouettes. Her friends and family will remember her fondly for her kindness and cheerful nature.

A memorial service will occur on Friday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates located at 50 Fountain Dr. in Glen Carbon. Donations can be made in her honor to Youth on Record and to plant trees in memory, please visit http://www.herrfuneral.com/sunset-hill.
