Karon L. Ismari, 81, of rural Worden, Ill., died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. She was born on Aug. 17, 1942, in Staunton, Ill., to Vincent and Laura Cailotto Jacobs. She married Norman Ismari on Oct. 7, 1960, in Carlinville, and he survives.

She had been employed as a teacher at Gillespie Middle School in Gillespie. She retired in 2005. She was a member of Musicians Union Local #88. She enjoyed playing in local area municipal bands.
