Ismari

Karon L. Ismari, 81, of rural Worden, Ill., died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. She was born on Aug. 17, 1942, in Staunton, Ill., to Vincent and Laura Cailotto Jacobs. She married Norman Ismari on Oct. 7, 1960, in Carlinville, and he survives.

She had been employed as a teacher at Gillespie Middle School in Gillespie. She retired in 2005. She was a member of Musicians Union Local #88. She enjoyed playing in local area municipal bands.

Karon is survived by her husband, Norman Ismari of rural Worden; one son, Scott Ismari of Staunton; one daughter, Denise; five grandchildren, Alaina Ismari, Joshua Ismari, Zypher Hood, Sophie Hood, Sadie Hood; two brothers, Ralph (Susan) Jacobs of California, Rodney (Jonnie) Jacobs of California; and a niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
