Irene Marie Davis, 79, of Mt. Olive, Ill., died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born on Jan. 15, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo., to George Washington Paul Lorenz and Marie Emma (Davis) Lorenz. She married Noble McCreary, who preceded her in death in 1981. She married John Joseph Davis in 1982, and he survives.

She attended Staunton High School and graduated in the class of 1962. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker. She was employed by several places in her lifetime, including the Mill Cafe, L W Chemicals, Inc., and the Mt. Olive Herald. Irene was an excellent...
