John M. Patton, 68, of Springfield, Ill., died on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 17, 1955, in Staunton, to Peter J. and Rosemary A. Baumann Patton.

Survivors include three sisters, Penny (Mike) Noel of Chesterfield, Mo., Connie Patton Stelbrink of Springfield and Michelle “Mickey” (Brian) Lauer of Springfield; two nieces, Allie Brent of Jacksonville, Fla., and Angela (Ben) Christanson of Chesterfield, Mo.; one nephew, Alex Noel of Chesterfield, Mo.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George S. Patton.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton with Rev. Stephen Thompson officiating.

Memorials may be made to Helping Hands of Springfield. Staab Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
