Terry Soens, 76, of Williamson, Ill.,died on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at the Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra. He was born on July 7, 1947, in Litchfield, the son of Orville and Irene (Mellas) Soens. He was married to Rita Huffman on April 14, 1978, at the Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra. She survived.

Terry served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an Operator Engineer with Local #520 for over 50 years. During his retirement, Terry spent his time tinkering in the garage, horseback riding, spending time with his grandchildren, and collecting antique tractors.

Terry is survived by his wife, Rita Soens; three children, Sherry (Michel) Warren, Shawn (Christina) Soens, and Shane (Jessica) Soens; grandchildren, Shelby (Braxton), Mackenzie, Ella, Olivia, Conner, and Jillian; great-grandchild, Delaney; two sisters, Cheri Soens and Brandy Soens; and one niece, Zoe. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Livingston Park Pavilion located at Park and Rodenburg Streets in Livingston.

Memorial contributions in memory of Terry Soens can be made to the Staunton FFA (Future Farmers of America) or to the American Farm Heritage Museum in Greenville. Lesicko Funeral Home of Livingston and Williamson Funeral Home of Staunton are in charge of arrangements.
