SHS softball opens with two wins

The Lady Bulldogs softball team opened their season with 2 wins. They defeated Nokomis 12-4 on March 14.
Staunton ... 1-0-1-5-0-4-1 =12
Nokomis ...0-0-0-0-2-1-1 = 4
The Staunton girls put together 11 hits to score 12 runs defeating Nokomis 12-4. Runs were scored by Kylie Lucykow 1, Samantha Anderson 2, Ele Feldmann 1, Lilly Bandy 3, Evin Frank 2, M. Wofford 1, and Taylor Nolan 1.
RBIs were by Anderson 2, Feldmann 3, and Nolan 2.
Ele Feldmann pitched 7 innings. She struck out 5, walked 5 and allowed 5 hits and 4 runs.
The girls defeated Fr. McGivney 6-1 in Edwardsville on March 15 for their second win of the season.

The Staunton girls put together 10 hits to earn their 6 runs. Lilly Bandy had 2 hits including a triple and scored 3 runs. Taylor Nolan had 2 hits including a triple, scored 1 run and earned 2 RBIs. Samantha Anderson and Evin Frank each had 1 hit and scored 1 run. Frank also earned 1 RBI.
Gianna Bianco pitched all 7 innings for Staunton. She gave up 1 run, 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4.
