David Dias - Candidate Candidate Ward 1 alderman

March 22, 2023

I was appointed Alderman Ward 1 approximately 1 1/2 years ago. I've resided in Staunton for three and a half years having moved here from Clarksville, Tennessee in 2019.

I'm a retired Department of Defense civilian with nearly 33 years of experience. Since retirement, I've stayed active as a Certified Personal Trainer at the Edwardsville YMCA and Snap Fitness in Litchfield. Throughout my life I have always been active in the communities I've lived including school board president and member in Lebanon, Ill., church councils, and youth sports coach. Currently, I'm a member of St. Paul UCC in Staunton and teach an exercise class at the church twice a week on a volunteer basis. I currently serve as a member of the church council.

In a short time, I feel I have served the people of Staunton and Ward 1 well and would like to serve another term and build on my contributions. I currently lead three committees and have been actively involved in various issues impacting personnel, safety, infrastructure and the quality of people's lives. I'm reliable, energetic and accessible and will always represent the people of Staunton to the best of my ability.
