Wood 

Estella Mae (Mead) Wood, 84, formerly of Bunker Hill, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 22, after complications due to extended health issues. She was born May 1, 1938, a daughter of the late Carl Francis and Mable Irene (Hahn) Mead. She married James Dale Wood, and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Estella enjoyed baking bread for various functions. She enjoyed the animals she cared for while living on the family farm in Illinois until she was no longer able. She loved crafting projects she could give to family and friends and working puzzles. Estella was an avid member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Plainview, Chapter-665. Estella attended services at Life Harvest Ministries in Wilsonville until she moved to Colorado to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She lived with them from March 20, 2020, to current.

Estella is survived by her children, Jimmy (Ada) Wood of Bunker Hill, Rebecca (Dale) Addington of Colorado, Naomi (Joel) Sandefur of Lapel, Ind., April (Julian) Blount of Wood River; grandchildren, James (Maria) Wood, Melanie Howe, Amelia and Maria Sandefur, David (Jenny) Westminster, Julian C. Blount, Maurissa Marsh (Marshall) Emery; and 10 great-grandchildren. Estella was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Mead and Mable Hahn, and youngest son, David Benjamin Wood, III.

A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, March 4, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill with Pastor Steven Martin of Wilsonville's Life Harvest Ministries officiating. Burial was at the Wood Cemetery in Woodburn, next to her husband.
