Lady Bulldogs defeat Hillsboro

The Staunton High School Lady Bulldogs have been on a winning streak as they defeated Maryville Christian (45-28) on Jan. 6, and defeated Auburn (43-29) on Jan. 7. But the most exciting win had to be the 53-52 win over Hillsboro on Jan. 12.

Haris Legendre sank a basket from the side during the closing seconds of the game to take a 1-point lead. The Hillsboro girls did get a shot off, but as the ball rolled off to the side of the rim, time ran out and the Lady Bulldogs celebrated their 1-point win. This win brought their season record to 15-5 and their conference record to 3-2.
