Clara Marie Mansholt, 94, of Staunton, Ill., died on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Heritage Health in Staunton. She was born July 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Zdlikofer) Senaldi. She married Marcus A. Mansholt on Dec. 20, 1958, in Mississippi, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2017.

Clara was employed as a cashier at Bill's IGA in Staunton for many years. She was also a UFCW member and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Rick (Sheila) Hainaut of Taylorville; one daughter, Gail Hainaut of Granite City; six grandchildren, Charis (Ryan) Lowis, Melissa Hainaut, Michelle Hainaut, Michael (Allyson) Mansholt, David (Alicia) Mansholt, and Alecia (Eric) Whitlock; nine great-grandchildren, Grady, Hallie, Sydney, Kylee, Kody, Anna, Carter, Maren, and Khris. Numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Mansholt; one daughter, Terry Lynn Mansholt; and one brother, Joe Senaldi.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, Jan. 19, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at noon on Thursday, at the funeral home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
