Charles "Chuck" Alan Oliphant of Livingston, Ill., died on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023. Chuck was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Spencer, Ind., to Mary Catherine (Kiser) and Frank Oliphant. He married Alice Marie Augustine on Feb. 27, 1954, in Paris, Ill. Alice preceded him in death on May 31, 1999.

Chuck served during World War II in the Army Air Force from 1945 to 1948. He was a member of the New Douglas Masonic Temple and Staunton VFW Post #1241. He was employed as a technician for Madison Communications for many years.

He is survived by his children, Eric (Bonnie) Oliphant of Worden, Lesley (Tim) Lovejoy of Bunker Hill, Mary Schneider of Hamel; four grandchildren, Justin (Jackie) Brooks of Alhambra, Jessica (Nick) Thyer of Shipman, Erika Schneider of St. Louis, Mo., Alexandra (Taylor) Watson of Gillespie; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted Coll of San Antonio, Texas, Frank "Ted" Oliphant of Lebanon, Ind .; one sister, Suzy (Chuck) Heinz of Middletown, Del .; brother-in-law, Joe Klemme; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Frances Augustine; Jack and Betty Augustine; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Klemme; a sister-in-law, Rita Coll; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Frieda Augustine.

Private graveside services and interment will be held at Spangle Cemetery near Livingston.
