Arthur Michael Mriscin, 57, of rural New Douglas, Ill., died as a result of an automobile accident near his home on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022. He was born on July 24, 1965, in Staunton, the son of Edward Alfred and Nina Mae (Bishop) Mriscin.

Arty was a 1984 graduate of Livingston High School. He was employed at Worksaver in Litchfield as a welder for 30 years. He was owner and operator of Mriscin Furs. Arty was a wild fur trapper, hunter, and fisherman. He enjoyed the farm life, with his chickens, rabbits and his goats – as most people started knowing him as the Goat Guy. But what Arty most treasured were his grandsons, Ryker and Roman. Arty was a great guy as he would help anyone out and not ask for anything in return.

Arty is survived by his fiancée, Jennifer (Prosser) Huber; daughter, Riley Huber; grandsons, Ryker and Roman Cummings; brother, Edward (Linda) Mriscin; sisters, Ruby "Sam" McCarty, Mary (Larry) Hopper, Carol Mriscin; brother-in-law, Robert Kelso; sisters-in-law, Joelle (Jeff) Leitschuh and Jill (Chris) Gorenz; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Donna Reitmeyer and Virginia Kelso; brothers-in-law, William McCarty and Donald Reitmeyer.

A visitation service was held on Thursday, Dec. 29, at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston. Cremation followed the service.

Memorials may be made to the family. Condolences may be left online at http://www.lesickofuneral home.com.
