8th Grade team completed season at Sectional championship The 8th grade girls basketball team and Coach Jennifer Abert finished an incredible 2022 season. They won their regional championship game and advanced to sectional play, but fell short to a competitive Hillsboro team in the sectional championship game.
The Staunton Terriers swept two non-conference games last week, as both the 7th and 8th grade squads defeated Litchfield and Greenville.
On Monday, Dec. 12, SJHS welcomed Litchfield to Staunton. The 8th grade Terriers shot out to a 19-4 lead after one quarter and eventually won the game 56-19. Staunton made eight 3-pointers on the night, with Isiah Laux (12 pts.) notching half of them.
