Staunton Star - Times - Published in the Interest of the Staunton Community for Over 143 Years

The 7th grade Lady Terriers basketball team had earned their way to the Illinois State Tournament at Auburn with their 22-0 record. In their first game at Auburn, Staunton faced another undefeated team, Pittsfield Pikeland (24-0).

Pittsfield Pikeland defeated Staunton 30-9. This loss ended the Terrier’s season with an admirable 22-1 record.

Pittsfield Pikeland went on to defeat Washington MS 58-28. The win put Pittsfield Pikeland in the State championship game vs. Paris Mayo to be played Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
