Bernice Hemann, 84, of Staunton, Ill., died at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022. She was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Staunton to Ben Wessel and Minnie Wehr. She married Melvin Hemann.

She was an EMT for Staunton Ambulance Service.

She is survived by her sons, Rich (Linda) Schubert of Staunton, Brad Hemann of St. Louis, Mo .; and grandchild, Dylan Hemann and companion, Fred Soens. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Martin, Mary and Bobby.

Graveside services were held on Friday, Oct. 21, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
