Bulldog defense worked hard and contained the Miner offense in the win Friday night in Gillespie.
The Staunton Bulldog football team broke into the win column when they traveled to Gillespie on Friday, Oct. 14 and defeated the Miners 27 - 12. The Miners scored first and last but in between, it was all Bulldogs.
With a little over 5 minutes left in the first quarter, Cody Ury ran in from the 4 yard line for Staunton's first TD. The Miners were able to block the PAT kick but the Bulldogs had tied the score at 6-6. Still in the first quarter, Ury completed a pass to Braden Buffington good for 27 yards and a second Bulldog TD.
