Murder suspect arrested in Gillespie for stealing bicycle

 


Deundrea S. Holloway, age 22, who lives in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street in Litchfield, was arrested in Gillespie on Thursday, June 9. Police found Holloway riding a stolen bicycle and took him in for questioning, but he was combative and uncooperative. He was arrested for theft and taken to the Macoupin County Jail.

Police later found out that he was a suspect in a murder in Alton.

The decapitated body of Liese Dodd, age 22, of Alton was discovered by her mother on the afternoon of June 9. She was eight months pregnant. Her head was later discovered in a dumpster near the residence.

Holloway, who Dodd had dated off-and-on during the past two years, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of intentional homicide to an unborn child, dismembering a human body, possession of a stolen vehicle, and concealment of a homicide death. Holloway is currently being held at the Alton Police Jail on a $2 million bond.

Holloway is on probation for a 2019 theft in Macoupin County.
