Track teams in quad meet at Pana

 


The Staunton track teams traveled to Pana on Tuesday to participate in a quad meet.

Men’s Results

The Pana men’s team took first place with 85.5 points followed by Staunton with 68, Litchfield 48.5 and Springfield Lutheran 42.

In the 100 Meters finals, Jacob Dillon, Colin Mullenix and Ethan Rantanen tied for 4th place.

Michael Matesa placed 6th, Dylan Jarden was 7th and Zach Mathis 8th in the 200 meters.

In the 400 meters event, Curtis Orr, Damion Tew and Anthony Sansone of Staunton placed 5, 6, 7.

Troy Albertina and Trey Luketich placed 4th and 5th in the 800 meter finals.

Brock Best tied for 4th in the 1600 Meter finals. Thomas Ogata and EthanTew placed 7th and 8th.

Nicholas Monahan placed 2nd and Michael Brand placed 4th in the 3200 meters.

In the 110m hurdles, Drake Dufrain placed 2nd, just 1 second behind 1st place Sam Holthaus of Pana. In the 300m hurdles, Dufrain and Holthaus tied for first place with a time of 47.0.

The 4x100 relay team of Colin Mullenix, Ryan Strebel, Drake Dufrain and Jacob Dillon won first place with a time of 48.0. The team of Coby McDonald, Dylan Jarden, Zach Mathis and Damion Tew tied for 4th.

The Staunton team of Strebel, Braden Buffington, McDonald and Ethan Rantanen won first place in the 4x200 Relay.

The 4x400 team of Mullenix, Rantanen, Hunter Wallace and Dillon placed 2nd.

The team of Troy Abertina, Broc Best, Trey Luketich and Thomas Ogata won the 4x800 Relay finals with a time of 11:07.5.

Joseph Cisler placed 2nd in the shot put with his distance of 11.02m. Joe Goss placed 4th and Zack Young was 10th.

Cisler and Goss placed 4th - 5th in the discus and Zack Young was 8th.

Ryan Strebel placed 3rd in the high jump. Michael Matesa was 3rd in the pole vault. Braden Buffington was 6th and Drake Dufrain placed 9th in the long jump. Buffington placed 2nd in the triple jump.

Women’s Results

The Litchfield ladies won first place with 87.5 team points followed by Springfield Lutheran with 55.5, Pana with 43.5 and Staunton 25.5.

Claire Baima was in a 4-way tie for 11th in the 100 meters. Grace Bekeske placed 3rd in the 400 meters while Sam Schnefke and Lexi Hester finished 5-6 in the 800 meters. Staunton’s Sarah Wright was 4th in the 1600 meters.

Staunton's 4x100 relay team of Lilly Trettenero, Grace Bekeske, Claire Baima, and Brianna Hainaut placed 3rd.

The 4x200 team of Trettenero, Baima, Lexi Pfeiffer and Hainaut placed 3rd.

The 4x400 team of Trettenero, Pfeiffer, Schnefke and Hester placed 4th.

The 4x800 relay team Pfeiffer, Wright, Schnefke and Hester won first place with a time of 12:64.5.

Bekeske placed 2nd in the high jump and Trettenero placed 2nd in the pole vault.

Hainaut placed 9th in the long jump and Bekeske was 2nd in triple jump.
