Ruth Marie Nitz, 101, of Dorchester, Ill., died at Heritage Health of Carlinville on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022. She was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Witt, to the late Otto Wolff and Mathilda (Hauschild) Wolff. She married John Nitz on Oct. 12, 1937, in Wilsonville. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2003.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Marjorie Nitz; and brothers, Melvin Wolff and Ivan Wolff.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 14, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial was at New Douglas Cemetery in New Douglas.
