To You … With Love,

By Avis Richardson (Retired Reverend)

Magnificent God who arose. The garden was silent as Mary came, bearing the spices for Jesus her king; dead by the hand of the world and its sin. She never would see her dear master again, but in the dawn of the first light of morn, she saw that the stone from the tomb was gone.

In great fear she ran to tell those that she knew, that someone had taken the Lord from the tomb. They hurried to see, looked in and believed but did not understand for they could not perceive, that he would rise for as yet they’d not heard, the wonderful promise of God’s Holy Word.

They left her alone as she wept in her despair, while angels were standing ever so near, but her grief was so heavy through her many tears, she only saw men in white raiment there. “O where is my Lord!” she begged them to tell.. Not knowing he had just broken the powers of hell, then Jesus drew near and stood by her side. The wonderful Savior, who for men had died. How he must have loved her as she pleaded with him, “O sir, give me back my Master’s body again.” Then he spoke her name. O God, Praise and glory, Dear Mary, go tell my resurrection story.

She reached out to touch him but he stood apart. For now she would learn that he’d live in her heart. So Mary ran through the garden, damp with its dew and the message she gave them, I now give to you.

He’s alive. He is risen. I’ve seen him you know. Just look in the world he lives evermore. And if you can’t find him, then silently wait, he’ll make himself known by some garden gate. For he is the lord and he wants us to see. That God’s love did not end on the Calvary’s tree.

It broke all the bonds that would hold it away. And God’s love still is alive on this very day.

Alleluia, we say, Alleluia, Amen. Let you who have found him, say it again.
