Our next children’s program will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 10:00 a.m. The featured book, The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night, written and illustrated by Peter Spier, is based on a old folk song, and tells the humorous tale of a dashing fox who nabs a goose and duck from a farmer, then returns to his “cozy den,” where he and his large family enjoy a fine supper. When Peter Spier first drew and painted the pictures for this book in 1961, the state of printing books was such that only half of the pictures could be reproduced in color.
