Court

Ronald M. Burns, (36), of Gillespie, committed the Class three felony offense of possessing less than five grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine on Dec. 31, 2023.

Edward D. Askew, (71), of Keyesport, Ill., committed the Class four felony offense of violating an order of protection on March 15, 2024 and after having been previously convicted of violating an order of protection in Macoupin County. Having been served with notice of an order of protection issued by Macoupin County, said defendant called and left voicemails on the protected party’s phone.


Patrick D. Greer, (38), of Mt. Olive, committed two counts for crimes committed on Feb. 17, 2024. Count one is a Class one felony of knowingly possessing more than 15 grams but less than 100 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine. Count two is for aggravated assault with an airsoft gun, in that said defendant pointed and discharged a BB gun (airsoft gun) at a vehicle being occupied by another.

Carol L. Scroggins, (61), of Cottage Hills, Ill., committed the offense of criminal trespass to vehicles, in that, on March 14, 2024 and without authority to do so, said defendant operated a 2018 Ford F-150 truck belonging to another.

Devon D. Hickman, (20), of Virden, faces two counts for crimes that occurred on March 17, 2024. Count one is for criminal trespass to a building, in that said defendant knowingly and without lawful authority entered into a garage located in rural Virden, Ill. Count two is for criminal trespass to land, in that said defendant entered upon the above mentioned land in Virden, after having received prior notice from Macoupin County that such entry was forbidden.

Jamie L. Whitford, (49), of Alton, Ill., committed the offense of violating an order of protection on March 16, 2024. Said defendant knowingly committed an act prohibited by an order of protection in Madison County and after having been served with notice of said order of protection, the defendant entered upon the protected property located in Alton, Ill.

DUI

Ronald M. Burns, (36), of Gillespie, was ticketed for driving a purple, 2000 Harley motorcycle while under the influence on Dec. 31, 2023 at 1:24 a.m.

Nicholas W. Dufner, (22), of Carlinville, was ticketed for driving a blue, 2019 Ford passenger car on W. Main St. and Plum St. on March 12, 2024 at 10:45 p.m.

Stephanie M. Lasica, (29), of Gillespie, was ticketed for driving a white, 2019 GMC passenger car on Central St. and Main St. on March 10, 2024 at 3:31 a.m.
