Thursday, Sept. 27, 1923 -- JURIES RETURN INDICTMENTS -- The Federal grand jury at Quincy and the Macoupin county grand jury last week returned indictments which involve quite a number of people from this part of the state. Violation of the prohibition laws and operation of gambling houses and slot machines comprise the charges in the bulk of the indictments.

Those indicted by the federal grand jury from this vicinity are Jack Sharp, Staunton; Charles and Martha Schwartz, Livingston; and Anna Savallick, of Staunton, all on account of the national prohibition act.
