R. Marie Lesich (82) of Staunton died March 10 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Staunton.

Chester G. Dooley (81) of Worden died March 8 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Verne Eldon “Bummy” Brines (73) of Mt. Olive died March 9 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Stella (Popelar) Sievers Zipprodt (92) of Litchfield died March 9 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Clarence Martin Steinhauser (94) of Mt. Olive died March 11 at his home.

The Staunton Junior High School eighth grade girls volleyball team won the Regional title then the Sectional title. They will play in the State Tournament on Saturday.

Betsy Hannig was sworn in as State Representative, taking the place of her husband Gary Hannig who is now head of IDOT.

A daughter was born to Greg and Michele Kilduff of Taylorville on Feb. 20.
