Staunton FFA earns superior rating at state vet science

On Saturday, March 2, eight members of the Staunton FFA Chapter traveled to the University of Illinois to compete in the state Veterinary Science contest. Members were put to the test on their skills in math, animal handling and restraint practicums, tool, breed, and parasite identification, and basic veterinary knowledge. The varsity team placed 4th overall, earning a superior rating and consisted of Molly McCalla (18th individual), Madelyn Davin (19th individual), Raven Stipcak (22nd individual), and Brianna Kruse (32nd individual). The alternate team placed 2nd their division and consisted of Tyler Bequette (2nd individual) Kelsey Wempe (3rd individual), Kara Leach (7th individual), and Allison Pritchett (22nd individual).
