Senior Citizens meeting discuss July elections

The Jan. 4, 2024 meeting was called to order at 1 p.m. by president, Gerri Cook. The Lord's Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance were recited. There were 26 attendees including two new members, Jack and Pat Hachmuth and one guest, Rick Henry.

A card request for Bev Beyer for requested. There will be ham sandwiches on March 21. Gerri reminded everyone of the July election of officers that will take place so everyone has plenty of time to consider candidates and yearly membership dues will be due at the meeting in Aug. We will have a mother/father day lunch on June 20, ham sandwich lunch in Sept. and our holiday dinner in Nov.

Anyone wearing something for Valentine day at our Feb. 20 meeting will get a free bingo card. Sherrie Loots announced St. Paul will be having the second Bingo night on Jan. 13 and you may sign up for a table to be reserved if you wish to attend.

Cheryl Moore and Ruth Kilduff won the attendance prizes and pots of silver were won by Toni Janus and Vicki Pryor.

The meeting was adjourned and everyone enjoyed playing bingo called by Leslie Vannoy, Executive Director of Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bethalto.

The next Senior Citizens meeting will be on Jan. 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. at St Paul Christian Church at 225 S. Laurel St. in Staunton. All area seniors are invited to join our fellowship and bingo on each first and third Thursday of the month.
