John Lewis, 79, of Holiday Shores, Ill., died on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at his residence in Holiday Shores. He was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Troy N.Y., the son of John and Elizabeth Lewis and John married Michelle, his wife and she survives.

John is a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He served his country from 1961 to 1964, including a tour in Korea. He belonged to VFW Post 1241 in Staunton. John was a volunteer fireman for 46 years in Wynantskill, N.Y., Glen Este, Ohio, Glen Carbon, Ill., Edwardsville, Worden, and Holiday Shores.
