PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Communities of the City of Bunker Hill, City of Carlinville, City of Gillespie, Village of Royal Lakes, City of Staunton and unincorporated Macoupin County will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Super 8 By Wyndham Staunton, 1527 Herman Road, Staunton, IL 62088, on the question of whether to alter the boundaries of the certified Macoupin County Enterprise Zone as originally designated by Ordinance.

This proposed amendment to the Enterprise Zone boundary has been initiated by the City of Staunton in connection with potential commercial redevelopment of these areas. The reason for the hearing will be to identify the purpose of the projects for the proposed zone, describe the boundaries of the zone, and identify the local plans, tax incentiivess and other information that would be established in the event that the State of Illinois adds territory to the Enterprise to the Enterprise zone.

All interested citizens are invited to attend and to express their opinions, especially those persons owning property or residing in the certified Entireprise Zone to be added thereto. Persons unable to attend the hearing and wishing to comment may send written comments to Aaron Coe, Macoupin County Enterprise Zone Administrator, 201 East Main, PO Box 107, Carlinville, Ill., 62626. Maps and legal desriptions illustrating the boundaries of the territory will be displayed and explained at the public hearing.
