Plan ahead for CAH's Auxiliary catered Fall Dinner

November 1, 2023

The Carlinville Area Hospital Auxiliary includes with its May and Nov. meetings a catered dinner that is open to Auxiliary members and their guests – male and female -- at no cost. This year’s Fall meeting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the banquet room of Carlinville’s United Methodist Church, starting at 5:30 p.m.

As part of the agenda, the Auxiliary will be honoring Les Totsch and his wife, Cheryl, with a special presentation for his ongoing commitment and dedication to blood donation. Earlier this year, Les’s contribution gave him a total of 25 gallons of blood donated, which has saved countless lives over the years. A representative of Springfield-based ImpactLife, which collects and distributes blood to dozens of communities in the Springfield region, will be on hand to congratulate Les and share the organization’s appreciation for what he has accomplished.

“We invite all Auxiliary members and their guests for a special evening,” said Auxiliary Vice President Rhonda Caveny-Jones, who coordinated the meeting. “We always offer a well-catered meal, along with water, tea, and coffee. Dress is business casual and guests are free to ask questions about agenda items or the goals and guidelines of the Auxiliary. Members of the community who are interested in joining the Auxiliary should contact me – at 217-854-7607 -- and be our guest for the evening.”

Auxiliary President Patty Bouillon pointed out that “This Fall meeting is when we collect annual dues for existing members and, if they choose to join our organization, for new members. Men and women are eligible, and we especially encourage men to add to our roster of volunteers. New members may opt for Active membership or Friends of the Auxiliary; i.e., those who are not quite ready to engage regularly in Auxiliary activities.”

Besides the tribute to Les Totsch, the regular meeting agenda will include our annual election of officers and a proposal to adopt new bylaws, as well as brief committee reports.
