Melony L. Biver, 48, of Worden, Ill., died Friday, Sept. 29, at Community Hospital of Staunton. She was born on Oct. 22, 1974, in Alton to Bill Patton and Linda Lippoldt. On Oct. 14, 2000, she married Keith J. Biver at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon, and he survives.

Melony was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamel. She graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1992. She later received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology from SIUE. For the last 20 years, Melony was a school psychologist serving students in the Alton School District. Melony enjoyed vacations to the islands and beaches and was an animal lover who loved the outdoors. She was very active with the St. Paul Lutheran School and Metro-East Lutheran High School while her daughter was a student.

Survivors include her husband, Keith Biver of Worden; daughter, Allison Biver of Worden; father, Bill (Sherri) Patton of Meadowbrook; mother, Linda (Arthur) Lippoldt of Hamel; brother, Jacob Patton of Meadowbrook; step-grandparents, Darrel and Linda Garner of Cottage Hills; stepsisters, Cathy (Det) Ball, Becky (Dave) Steinmann; and stepbrothers, Aaron (Michelle) Lippoldt and Matt Lippoldt.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamel. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel.

Memorials may be made to Turtle Hospital, Marathon, Fla., Worden Volunteer Fire Department, or Alton High School Transition Scholarship. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel.
