Brunco Party at Amore'

The Altar Societies of St. Joseph, Benld and Ss Simon and Jude, Gillespie are hosting a Brunco Party at Amore' restaurant on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. The doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $15 and include admission, one combo appetizer plate, iced tea and water. A cash bar will be available. Prizes will be awarded. Tickets at the door will cost $20 if seats are still available.

All proceeds will go to "Stock the Boxes/Illinois." This a nonprofit charitable project which originated in our area through the efforts of local residents: Laura and Don O' Brien and Margie and Mike Brill. These boxes, often referred to as Blessing Boxes, are stocked with nonperishable food items, toiletries, and other daily necessities for the taking by anyone in need. To date, there are 10 boxes placed in various locations throughout Macoupin, Montgomery, and Madison Counties.

While there is always a great need for life's necessities by those who are suffering the consequences of today's economic difficulties, this need is especially emphasized as the holidays are fast approaching. With your help and generosity, the Altar societies hope to help making stocking the boxes a little easier through this charitable project should go to [email protected].

Tickets for the Brunco Party are available at the Benld Public Library. If you need more information about the purchase of tickets, you can call the library at (217)-835-4045
