Safe Routes to School grant could provide future funds to enhance security

During Monday night’s city council meeting, the city council approved the authority of the city to apply for the Safe Routes to School grant application and authorized Mayor Neuhaus to execute all necessary documents associated with the grant application. This is a federal grant that will be used to place sidewalks from Hardees down Deneen Street. The purpose is for the students to have a safe path from home to school. The students will also have a safe path to Main Street. The funds will be allotted by 2025.
