Staunton Star - Times - Published in the Interest of the Staunton Community for Over 143 Years

In 1934, Staunton High School held their first Homecoming. In 1986, they celebrated 50-plus years of SHS Homecomings. Dedicated teachers went through all the records and yearbooks and gathered a list of all Staunton Homecoming queens, contacted as many as they humanly could and invited them all to attend the 1986 Homecoming Football Game. Each queen attending received a corsage and at halftime, this photograph was taken commemorating the occasion. Amazingly, 35 were able to attend.
