Court
Jennifer M. White (43) of Girard, committed the Class 3 felony offense in that said defendant knowingly possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamines or a substance containing methamphetamines on June 11, 2023.
Montrell D. Ousley (31) of Springfield, Ill., on June 18, 2023, committed the Class 2 felony offense in that said defendant knowingly possessed more than 5 grams but less than 15 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine.
Shelly Demers (58) of Kingston, NY, on Aug. 31, 2023, committed the offense in that said defendant knowingly resisted the performance of Officer Hunter Sutton of an authorized act within his official capacity, being the arrest of Demers. The defendant, knowing Officer Sutton to be a peace officer engaged in the execution of his official duties, swung her arms about while officers were placing cuffs upon her, striking an officer on his hands and smashing Officer Sutton’s finger.
Melissa A. Turner (48) of Gillespie, committed one count of a Class 3 felony on May 30, 2023. The defendant knowingly possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine. Count II is a misdemeanor offense of theft control intent of less than $500 in that on May 30, 2023, said defendant knowingly obtained unauthorized control over the property of Jennifer Cathorall, being jewelry, with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of use of said property.
Jaykob D. Lewis (28) of Benld, committed the Class 3 felony on July 24, 2023, in that said defendant knowingly possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine.
Jorden T. Trimm (33) of Benld, committed the Class 3 felony on July 17, 2023, in that said defendant knowingly possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine.
Brian E. Tumpach (55) of Mount Olive, on June 22, 2023 committed a Class 2 felony on two counts. Count I is the offense of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and he knowingly delivered less than 1 gram of fentanyl. Count II is the offense of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance that occurred on June 27, 2023, in that said defendant knowingly delivered less than 1 gram of fentanyl.
Richard E. Howerton (55) of Virden, committed the Class 4 felony offense of unlawful possession of a credit or debit card on March 29, 2023. The defendant received possession of a Marine Bank debit card of Brian J. Boone without the cardholder’s consent and used said card to purchase items at Family Dollar in Virden.
Thomas A. Burns (30) of Plainview, Ill., on Aug. 31. 2023, committed one count of residential burglary, a Class 1 felony. The defendant knowingly and without authority entered into the residence of Kelsey M. Burns, located in Brighton, Ill, with the intent to commit theft. Count II is a Class 2 felony offense in that on Aug. 31, 2023, said defendant aided/abetted/possessed/sell a stolen vehicle. The defendant had possession of a Polaris Razr 200cc and knew it to have been stolen. T. Burns was not entitled to possession of said vehicle. Count III is a Class 3 felony charge of theft control intent of more than $500 and less than $10,000 on Aug. 31, 2023. T. Burns knowingly exerted unauthorized control over the property of K. Burns with the intent to permanently deprive K. Burns of the benefit of said property. Count IV is also a Class 3 felony that on Aug. 31, 2023, the offense of aggravated battery to a victim 60 plus years old that intentionally caused bodily harm to Jacqueline Burns. Her head was struck causing a head injury.
Larry A. Barnes (68) of Carlinville, committed a misdemeanor on Aug. 22, 2023, of solicitation of a sexual act where Barnes offered money to another person in exchange for the ability to commit an act of sexual penetration, specifically requesting to place his penis in the mouth of another person for $20.
Daryle L. Jones (32) of Staunton, committed the misdemeanor offense of bad checks/obtaining control over property on June 13, 2023. The defendant, with the intent to defraud and the intent to obtain control over property of Madison Communications, a corporation authorized to do business in the State of Ill., knowingly delivered certain bank checks to Madison Communications, Macoupin County, Ill., drawn on ECHK payable to Madison Communications in the amount of $885.20 and signed as drawer, knowing said check would not be paid by the depository.
Sandra S. Shaub (48) of Carlinville, on May 24, 2023, committed a misdemeanor offense of bad checks/obtain control over property. Shaub, with the intent to defraud and the intent to obtain control over cerain property of Reno’s Pizza, a corporation authorized to do business in the State of Ill., knowingly delivered certain bank checks to Reno’s Pizza, located within Macoupin County. The defendant had drawn on PNC Bank payable to Reno’s Pizza in the amount of $35 and signed as a drawer, knowing that said bad checks would not be paid by the depository.
Julius E. Turner (21) of Springfield, Ill., on Aug. 9, 2023, committed the misdemeanor offense of violating an order of protection. Turner knowingly committed an act prohibited by an order of protection in Macoupin County, after having been served with the notice of said order of protection, he entered upon the protected residence located within Girard.
Kimberly O. Baker (35) of Staunton, committed the misdemeanor offense of theft/unauthorized consent of $500 and less on July 17, 2023. Baker knowingly exerted unauthorized control over the property of Aaron Ocepek, being a sports memorabilia, with the intent to permanently deprive Ocepek of the benefit of said property.
DUI
Alice F. Horne (63) of Hillsboro, on Aug. 21, 2023 at 5:45 p.m., was arrested for driving her 2011 Chevrolet Impala under the influence by the Shell exit towards Carlinville.
Corey S. Scroggins (25) of Staunton, committed the offense of driving under the influence on Aug. 18, 2023 at 11:57 p.m., on VFW Road just east of Della Lane in Staunton.
Jonathan M. Kirkwood (26) of Benld, on Aug. 28, 2023 at 11:14 a.m., committed the crime of driving his Nissan while under the influence on Illinois Avenue and West Main in Carlinville.
Bryan Huff (39) of Carlinville faces two counts of driving under the influence on Aug. 27, 2023 at 2:26 a.m., in Carlinville on University and East Nicholas. Count I is driving under the influence and Count II is having a BAC of .08 or higher.
Kayla M. Frayer (34) of Gillespie, on Aug. 27, 2023 at 3:01 a.m., faces two counts of driving under the influence, when said defendant did unlawfully operate a 2014 Hyundai on Staunton Road, just North of Southern Street with a BAC of .08 or more in Gillespie.
Dean R. Bondy (39) of Gillespie, faces two counts of driving under the influence being the 1st or 2nd offense as well as the transportation or possession of open alcohol by said driver on North 8th Street, just North of East Blevens Street in Cahokia on Aug. 27, 2023 at 1:51 a.m. The defendant also has one count of disobeying a stop sign on North 8th Street just South of East Chestnut Street located in Cahokia on Aug. 27, at 1:41 a.m.
Brandon M. Shultz (46) of Litchfield, faces three counts from the offenses committed on Aug. 27, 2023 at 10:39 p.m. on IL-16 in the Township of Cahokia. Count I is the 1st or 2nd offense of driving under the influence, Count II is having a BAC of .08 or more. Count III is an improper lane usage - crossing the lane boundary unsafely which also occurred on IL-16.
Troy M. Wagner (36) of O Fallon, Ill., faces two counts of driving under the influence, when Bunker Hill Police Department stopped a 2017 Infiniti on Washington and Hamilton on Sept. 3, 2023 at 12:18 a.m., in that said defendant unlawfully operated a vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more and drove their vehicle while under the influence of alochol.
